"Design is all about Concept" ... Renee Nanneman's motto since starting her own publishing business, The Need'l Love Company, Inc., in 1984 when she was 26 years old.
Be it designing patterns for cross stitch, rug hooking or quilting, Renee creates and publishes fresh and innovative design to inspire others to appreciate and enjoy the needlearts.
For Renee, fabric designing is just another creative vision. Inspired by the vintage fabric on an old covered box, Renee's first fabric collection, "Daylily Days" was created. Most of her fabric designs come to life from old quilts, fabrics and needlework she has found while scouring antique shops and flea markets. She loves to give everything she touches a "vintage" feel. Since 2006, Renee has created more than 30 print, woven & wool fabric groups for Andover Fabrics. Andover released Renee's first grouping of "basics" -- small prints in colors to coordinate with her fabric collections -- and named them "Itsy Bits".
Many quilters and needlewomen recognize Renee from her publications of the Need'l Love "Threads" series of books which feature at least one quilt, along with wool applique, stitchery, rug hooking and more. Beautiful styling and photography make these project books a collector's item. The first Woodland Threads book came out in 1995, and the latest release in 2012 was Garden Gate Threads, #26 in the series.
Along with creating beautiful fabric collections, Renee has published 9 books featuring the fabrics from her collections. Her own unique color palette is recognizable in each design.
Always a trend-setter, Renee loves to fill her life with things she loves -- "Bella Bliss" -- and wants to share them with others through her designs!
