Renee Nanneman of Need'l Love
Renee Nanneman has lived by the motto, "Design is all about Concept," since founding The Need'l Love Company, Inc. in 1984 at the age of 26. For more than four decades, she has shared her passion for the needlearts through original designs, patterns, and publications that inspire creativity and celebrate the beauty of handmade traditions.
From cross stitch and rug hooking to quilting and fabric design, Renee's work is rooted in a love of timeless design and storytelling. In addition to publishing hundreds of patterns, she is the creator of the popular Threads book series, reflecting her appreciation for vintage textiles, folk art, and the enduring appeal of needlework.
Inspired by a vintage fabric-covered orange crate, Renee created her first fabric collection, Daylily Days, launching a successful partnership with Andover Fabrics. Drawing inspiration from antique quilts, historic textiles, flea market treasures, and timeworn needlework, she creates collections that blend the charm of the past with the needs of today's quilters.
Since 2006, Renee has designed more than 80 print, woven, and wool fabric collections for Andover Fabrics. In 2026, she proudly celebrates 20 years as an Andover fabric designer, continuing to share her love of vintage-inspired design with quilters around the world.
